Baby Sleep Bag 2.5 TOG in TENCEL™ Lyocell - Stargazing Bears
Cold snap outside, steady warmth inside the bag — and nothing loose in the crib.
Polar bears and their cubs under the northern lights — Arctic bedtime.
This is the winter weight, built for a cold nursery between 16 and 20°C. When a 1.0 TOG stops being enough on the coldest nights, this is the bag that holds the warmth in without a loose blanket.
Material. A TENCEL™ Lyocell shell over a fuller layer of DuPont™ Sorona insulation, a plant-based fill that holds real warmth without the bulk of a padded blanket. TENCEL™ is Lenzing's wood-pulp fiber, spun in a closed-loop process and certified to OEKO-TEX Standard 100.
Why most brands skip this weight. A true 2.5 TOG is harder to make than a padded 1.0, so most premium lines stop at the lighter weight and leave cold nurseries to a loose blanket. This one is built for the 16–20°C room, so the blanket stays out of the crib.
The print. Deep navy ground with white polar bears and their cubs gazing up at the northern lights — aurora swirls in teal and blue, with stars, moons, and constellations.
Construction. Sleeveless on purpose, so your baby sheds heat instead of trapping it. A two-way zipper runs the length of the bag, so a midnight diaper change takes seconds and wakes nobody. The neck and arm openings are bound in soft fabric, not scratchy serged edges, and cut snug — the part that matters most for safe sleep.
Adjacent TOGs in the same print. Room warmed up to 21–24°C? The 1.0 TOG TENCEL™ Sleep Bag in Stargazing Bears is the year-round weight. For warm summer nurseries above 24°C, the 0.5 TOG Muslin Sleep Bag.
Sizing. 0–6M (3.6–8.2 kg / 8–18 lb), 6–18M (8.2–12.7 kg / 18–28 lb), 18–36M (12.7–17.2 kg / 28–38 lb). Always size to weight, not age. Loose shoulders are a safety issue overnight.
Care. Machine wash cold and tumble dry low. Don't bleach, and don't iron the printed areas. A baby's laundry schedule is relentless; TENCEL™'s surface doesn't notice.
Safety & certification. Aligned with Canadian Paediatric Society safe-sleep guidance. Tested to Health Canada's Textile Flammability Regulations, and to CPSIA and ASTM standards. Material certified to OEKO-TEX Standard 100. Loulou Lollipop is a Certified B Corporation.
Common questions
When is a 2.5 TOG sleep sack the right choice?
When the nursery sits between 16 and 20°C overnight — cold-snap winter, drafty older homes, basement bedrooms. Below 16°C you're past sleep-sack territory and into raising the thermostat.
Will a 2.5 TOG be too warm for an average winter nursery?
If your nursery sits at 21–24°C overnight in winter, the 1.0 TOG TENCEL™ is the right weight. The 2.5 TOG is for genuinely cold rooms. Doubling a sleeper under a 1.0 TOG is also a common winter solution — but that can actually overheat your baby faster than a single 2.5 TOG bag would.
What is DuPont™ Sorona insulation?
Sorona is a plant-based polymer fiber DuPont produces from corn-derived feedstock. It traps warmth without bulk, so a 2.5 TOG sleep bag doesn't feel like a winter parka on a six-month-old. It also keeps its loft through wash cycles longer than polyester batting.
